Victoria has over twenty five years corporate and small business experience, as senior management or owner / founder in corporate consulting services, marketing and manufacturing in Australia and China.
Following an intensive language immersion program in Mandarin, Victoria moved to Shanghai in 2002 and worked for four years with global human capital management consulting firm DBM, providing employee management solutions for multinational organisations in China experiencing extensive growth and restructuring challenges. As Director, China, she was responsible for DBMs China expansion strategy and implementation and worked with client organisations in telecommunications, technology, automotive, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and consumer goods.
In 2007, Victoria established The Lanton Group in Shanghai, a business consultancy providing advice to Australian companies in market entry strategy and support, company expansion opportunities and business partner procurement in China and Mongolia. The Lanton Group assisted global companies and small private businesses, working with government and local partners in the three countries.
Prior to moving to Shanghai, Victoria worked in Melbourne in executive search in the technology, manufacturing and government sectors recruiting for senior executive to board level roles and was General Manager of a marketing consulting business working with a major automotive company for many years.
Victoria first went to China in 1994 to study Mandarin at Nanjing Normal University and continued that study at Monash University, Melbourne. She returned to Melbourne in 2009.
